Hello USA, Goodbye line-ups!

Today we received our Nexus cards to make travel to the US easier. We don't do it often but when we do it will be super helpful, especially after a long flight or drive.

James and I are off to Palm Springs in less than two weeks! We can't wait (well except for the flying and crying baby part!)

Memo to James:

When daylight savings comes around that one great night of the year when you are allowed to get one hour 'extra' sleep...just go with it and sleep in buddy!

I wanted to post a few videos of James that I had taken since he was born..so here they are! 

We caught James in a moment that has never happened again (giggling that is) - hopefully they come back soon because his giggles are too cute! James was 4 months old in this video.

Sushirama

Langley finally got it's first all-you-can-eat sushi place so we decided to try today.  We loaded James' diaper bag with toys and ventured out for our first meal out with the boy! We've gotten take-out since he was born because it's just easier. Geoff and I frantically chowed down on mediocre sushi while James squealed and looked at everything. He soon got interested in my water cup so we gave him a taste! He loved it! Water got everywhere and soaked his shirt. It was the first time Geoff and I didn't get seconds and we found it not as relaxing as we did in the past. Oh where did the days of gorging on sushi and napping for hours afterwards go?

HOT DIGGIDY DAWG!! Aright, we may be cruel parents to dress our kid up as a hot dog for Halloween, but there's a reason, aside from our desire to laugh at our cutie pie!

When I was pregnant, all I craved was hot dogs...well veggie dogs that is! I ate about two a day and it was good protein - much of what I think James is made up of and why he's so strong!

So we dressed our kid as a veggie dog with extra mustard, just how Mom likes it! We took James to our neighbours house and then ate his candy, which will soon turn into sweet sweet booby juice!

What a difference a year makes!

I decided to write a blog, as facebook isn't where I want to be posting everything about James and I was inspired by my neighbours daughter-in-law, who writes a great blog about her new son, Cole.  

I know that there are family and friends who would like to catch up on our wee man, so this is the perfect opportunity to do so at your leisure.  James is getting so big and it's so amazing to watch him grow and change everyday! I know I've had friends (b.c. - before-child) who would say "oh, she just learned to roll over!" I would say "neat" and not think much of it. But when it's your kid and they go from doing nothing to something, THAT'S HUGE! And this is no offense to those people and their wonderful children, just didn't mean much to me b.c. 

So anyways, this is a chance for you to check in and see how James is doing, what new adventures he's been up to and what new things he's doing! I would love any feedback or comments!

Tomorrow is Halloween and some of you might know that last year, Geoff and I found out about our pregnancy just before Halloween. We decided to use a pumpkin as a way to tell our family and friends and so my belly was named 'Pumpkin', as we had no idea who was inside until June 15, 2008! Yesterday we took this family photo and we can't believe how much has changed in a year and how much James has grown! We look forward to many more Halloweens (and stealing his trick-or-treat candy unbeknownst to him!) I can't wait to put James in his costume that my mom made! I'm sure that will be the next blog entry!
